Winston C. Gaston

Winston C. Gaston, 80, a native of Golden Meadow, LA, and a resident of Raceland, LA, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at St. Hilary Catholic Church, Raceland, LA. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Goff Gaston; daughters, Melissa Morvant (Bernard), Christine Pitre (Ross) and Sheri Scioneaux (Ron); grandchildren, Meagan Morvant, Cade Scioneaux, Natalie Morvant, Ethan Pitre, Elise Pitre and Charli Scioneaux; great granddaughter, Emberlyn Pitre and sisters, Rosalie Coleman (Wayne) and Brenda Guidry (Emile).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Lottie S. Gaston and sister, Patricia Gaston.
Winston was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of American Legion Post 175 of Metairie, American Legion Post 369 of Raceland. He was an officer and treasurer of Knights of Columbus Council 8840 and an officer of the Marine Corps League and a member of Endymion. He was an active parishioner of St. Hilary Catholic Church where he was a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and prepared and delivered Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas gifts to the poor.
He retired 17 years ago from Weatherford Gemeco after many years of service.
