Todd John Degruise

Todd John Degruise, 54, a native and resident of Raceland, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, after a 9-month battle with cancer.

Visitation will be held at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 23rd from 9 am until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11am with burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery. 

Todd is survived by his mother, Beverly “Belle” Degruise; two older sisters, Lori Degruise (Joe) and Vicky Barker (Petzee); niece and Godchild, Brittney Dufrene (Josh); nephew, Tate "Totsy" Dufrene; Godchildren, Liam Dufrene and Chelsea Caro; step-daughter, Noosy Kaitlyn Zeringue; Godfather, Paul Breaux and Godmother, Carmel Knight.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alden Degruise; grandparents, Clinton and Maude Breaux; uncles, Eugene Degruise, Ferrel Degruise; aunts, Modres Degruise, Rosemary Bourgeois; cousin, Aubrey Morales and Darrell Knight and best buds, Doug Fonseca and Mike Griffin.

Todd loved cooking, specifically anything with a roux, his family, friends, football and his pups, Olive and Ozzy. In honor of Todd, please wear your favorite black and gold attire.
