Thelma C. Gisclair, 92, a native of Galliano, LA and a resident of Lockport, LA passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 5:23 AM.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, September 6, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galliano, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Dantin and wife Rita; daughter, Deanna Blanchard and husband Claude; step daughter, Deanna Guidry, 6 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin Joseph Dantin; second husband, Theotime J. Gisclair; son Dennis Dean Dantin; daughter, Lois Thibodaux and husband Sheldon; parents Lufroid and Pauline Guidry Cheramie; brothers Renis Cheramie, Rene Cheramie; sisters Edelia Eymard, Felanise Gisclair and grandson, Braden.
She loved her church and was a life-long member of the Altar Society. She was blessed, by God with creativity and incredible inner strength. She excelled as a seamstress, and worked much of her life caring for children who all knew her as Mon Mon Tel.
