Ruth L. Rodgers Plaisance

Ruth L. Rodgers Plaisance, beloved wife of Johnny Plaisance Sr., mother of Denise Collins, Johnny Plaisance Jr., Lydia Plaisance, Dominic Plaisance, Lance Plaisance, grandmother to Dale, Brent, Johnny III, Hayley, Trent, Johnathan, Emily, and Ashley, and sister of Leonard Rodgers Sr. 
Ruth was a resident of Cut Off, Louisiana, and passed away on January 2, 2026, at age 70 leaving a void her family cannot fill.

She was born in Pennsylvania on February 4, 1955 and was preceded in death by her parents, Kay N. Rodgers Sr. and Bertha Green Rodgers; her brother, Ralph Rodgers Sr.; her brother-in-law, Ronald Plaisance Sr.; her sister-in-law, Arlene Guidry; her father-in-law, Augustine Plaisance Sr. and her mother-in-law, Gustavia Cheramie Plaisance.

She built a full and meaningful life rooted in family, hard work, and creativity. She devoted many years of service to Lafourche Parish, working on the local bridges. She found joy in sewing, crafting doll furniture and exploring genealogy. Theses passions reflected her patience, creativity, and attention to detail.

Ruth's unexpected passing comes as a shock to family and friends and loved ones, who are still reeling at the loss. She donated her organs and her body to science. A GoFundMe will be set up in her name, so the family can have a small gathering and when her remains are returned, we will celebrate her life once more. Any help is appreciated and needed in our time of loss.
