Robert P. "Bobby" Matherne, Sr.

Robert P. ‘’Bobby’’ Matherne, Sr., 79, a native of Raceland and a resident of Gray passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021.

Visitation will be held at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland on Saturday, May 8th from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church at 11 :00 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Bobby is survived by his former wife, Barbara Blanchard Matherne; sons, Don Matherne (Kelly), Robert Matherne, Jr. (Rachael) and Todd Matherne; step children, Angie S. Champagne, Rocky Stephens and Curtis Stephens; brothers, Francis Matherne and Clarence Matherne, Jr.; 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren.

Mr. Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Candus Stephens Matherne; parents, Clarence Matherne, Sr. and Cecile Matherne; brothers, Jake Matherne, Kirlin Matherne, Jerry Matherne and Willie Matherne; sisters,Verna Theriot, Betty Zeringue and Bernice Falgout.
