Robert "Bobby" Mendoza

Robert “Bobby” J. Mendoza, 82, a native of Jenerette, LA and a resident of Thibodaux, LA, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, November 14, 2025 at St. Hilary Catholic church, Raceland, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen Phelps Mendoza; daughters, Michelle Moss (Samuel), Marcie Breaux (Duane) and Melanie Carlos (Allen); step daughter, Aimee Beard (Jerry); step son, Jeffery Richard (Jessica); grandchildren, Morgan Ray, Erin Ransome, Maggie Moss, Stephanie Landry, Dominic Breaux, Emma and Clay Carlos, Jayden, Avery and Alexis Beard; Dylan, Michaela and Ella Richard; step granddaughters, Dory Roberts and Mandy Alston; great grandchildren, Meredith and Molly Ransome and Michael Landry.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Mendoza; parents, Anthony and Marie Mendoza, brother, Ronald Anthony Mendoza and sister, Marcelle Mendoza Gonzalez.

Bobby was a member of the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association and National Funeral Directors Association. He was in the funeral industry for over 60 years. He was also a former member of the Raceland Volunteer Fire District #1 and a member of the American Legion Post 349. Bobby loved to cook, watch LSU football, spend time with his family and friends and spoil his fur babies. He will be greatly missed.
