Rita Dufrene Rodriguez, 87, a native of Gheens and a resident of Lockport, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at St. Hilary Catholic Church, Mathews, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday with burial to follow in Holy Savior Cemetery, Lockport, LA.
She is survived by her sons, Gregory (Mary), Kern (Phyllis), Audie (Deborah), Cornel, Mark (Charlene) Rodriguez; daughter, Tonya Dies (Terry); sister, Jean Chiasson; 13 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elair and Leontine Dufrene; son; Kyle Rodriguez; daughter-in-law, Denise Rodriguez; brothers, Alton, Meril, Lester, Calvin "C.J.", Jerry Dufrene and sisters, Bernice Baudoin and Irene Mulling.
Rita was a member of the Gheens Ladies Auxiliary.
