Ridley P. Chauvin, Sr., 83, a native and resident of Raceland passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022.
Visitation will be held at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 12th from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joanna F. Chauvin; son, Ridley P. Chauvin, Jr.; daughter, Simone R. (Jerome Marcell) Chauvin; siblings; Theresa Roundtree, Jeanette Eiland, Eva McKee and Agnes Cheramie; grandchild, Blake Peter Chauvin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon, SR. and Enola Robichaux Chauvin; siblings, Raphael Chauvin, Sr., Lorraine Plaisance, Inez Cheramie, Mary Frances Jeandron, Simon Chauvin, Jr., Louise Chauvin and Nola Breaux.
Ridley served Lafourche Parish as a Police Juror, Lions Club President, Levee Board, Cattleman’s Association President, he was also a 2-time LRA Calf Roping Champion.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
