Richard Joseph Simon, Jr.

Richard Joseph Simon, Jr., age 93, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026. He was a native of St. Rose and resident of Houma, Louisiana.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma on Thursday, February 12, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until a liturgy of the Word Service at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will be in St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery in Houma.

Richard is survived by his wife of 36 years, Betty Bateman Simon; sons, Ricky Simon, and Steven Simon and wife, Dorothy; daughters, Rochelle Hinkel, Cindy Cavalier and husband, Randy, Lana Bourgeois and husband, Sean, Renee Barraco and husband, Peter Jr., Lauren Simon, Maureen Rollin and husband, George, and Aischa Arnold and husband, Elvis; stepsons, Michael Theriot, Douglas Theriot and companion, Vandala, Glenn Theriot and wife, Teresa, Carl Theriot and wife, Theresa, John David Theriot and wife, Dawn; 41 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Pie Simon and Anita Lilly Babin Simon; sons-in-law, Jewel Millet, Jr. and Fredrick Hinkel; brothers, Ernest and Ralph Simon; sister, Loretta Trosclair; and stepson, James Theriot; and step-daughter-in-law, Diana Theriot.
