Richard Anthony Matherne, Sr., 59, a native of Bayou Gauche and a resident of Lockport died on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Falgout Funeral Home of Lockport. The visitation will continue on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. service time at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Holy Savior in Lockport.
He is survived by his sons; Cornel Matherne and wife Melissa, Richard Matherne, Jr. and wife Kandy, daughters; Chanel Matherne and fiancé Braighton Knotts, brothers; Daniel Matherne, Gale Matherne, Thillman Matherne, Jr., Darrel Matherne, and Bryan Matherne, one sister; Joyce Dean, and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Sibyl Dufrene Matherne, his parents; Thillman and Lucille Dufrene Matherne, a brother; Lee Evans Matherne, and a sister; Florence Bergeron.
Falgout Funeral Home of Lockport is in charge of Arrangements.
