Raymond A. Hodson, Jr.

Raymond A. Hodson, Jr., 90, a native and resident of Raceland, LA, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at St. Hilary Catholic Church, Raceland, LA. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial to follow in Holy Savior Cemetery, Lockport, LA.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Breaux Hodson; children, Jill Hodson, Tom “Tommy” Hodson, Ann Hodson, David Hodson (Deanna), Matthew Hodson (Kasie) and Ben Hodson (Monique); sisters, Oneta Hancock Andress, Marjorie Hodson and Dorothy Hodson; 23 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ray Hodson III; parents, Raymond Hodson Sr. and Theresa Robichaux Hodson.

Ray was a retired teacher and coach. He was also a cattleman and an avid sports enthusiast, but most importantly he loved his family.

The family would like to thank his caregivers, Edith Kirkland, Cora Walker, Tatum Adams, Roxanne Ayzienne, Rhonda Percle, Monica McWhorter and the hospice nurses and ACG.

In lieu of flowers donations to Central Lafourche High School, 4820 Highway 1, Raceland, LA 70394 are preferred.
