Randolph Joseph Fontenette

Randolph Fontenette was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and a man whose presence could light up any room he entered. He was married to his beloved wife, Lorretta Fontenette, with whom he shared a life rooted in love, family, and resilience.

A native son of New Orleans, Randolph was a professional jazz musician whose talent and passion were well known throughout the heart of the city. Music was not just what he did - it was who he was. Over the years, he had the honor of performing alongside some of the great artists of his time, including Johnny Taylor and renowned New Orleans trumpet player Thomas Jefferson. Through his music, he carried the soul of New Orleans wherever he played.

Later in life, Randolph answered another calling - one of service and protection. He worked for the FBI and served as a security guard, dedicating himself to safeguarding others with the same commitment and integrity he brought to every role in his life.

Randolph was a no-nonsense man with a big heart. He was a mentor, a teacher, and a true professional who believed in helping others and leading by example. Though firm when needed, his personality was warm, engaging, and unforgettable. He loved his family deeply and took pride in being a father and grandfather.commitment and integrity he brought to every role in his life.

He is survived by his wife, Lorretta Fontenette; his children: Randy Fontenette Jr., Sheena Fontenette Swan, Denise Martinez; along with his grandchildren Stephen Anson Jr., John Swan IV, Monti Swan and Bella Swan and Sean Martinez; son-in-laws T-Carl Martinez & John Swan IlI, and nephew Ricky Jackson friends, fellow musicians, and all those whose lives he touched.

Preceded in death by his mom, Usetta Jackson; father, Gus Fontenette; sisters, Barabra Jackson, Merith Jackson, and Lilian Jackson.

Randolph would want those who loved him to continue forward with joy, purpose, and gratitude for life. As he often said, "To be continued." His legacy lives on through his music, his service, and the love he poured into everyone around him
