Peggy C. Brown

With sorrowed hearts we announce Peggy C. Brown, 76, native and resident of Raceland, LA passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

Mrs. Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Donald Brown; her sons, Brent (Carla) Brown and Brady Brown; her grandchildren, Peyton (Michael) Norrell and Hunter (fiancé Shelby) Brown; her great-grandchildren, Grayson Norrell and Thomas Norrell; her brother, Nobby (Kay); her sisters, Irene (Bobby), Ruby (David), Joyce (Lynn, d. 2023), and Bonnie (Andrew); her brother-in-law, Steve; her sisters-in-law, Diane and Dianne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Alcide and Juliette Champagne; her brothers, Bobby and Jerry; her sisters, Gloria (Freddie) and Helen.

Peggy lived her life the Cajun way. In her free days she could either be found fishing in her backyard, catching bushels of crabs on the side of the boat, or relaxing on her swing. The smell of her roux cooking would fill the neighborhood, and she was always ready to share her specialties. There was never a dull moment when Peggy was around, she was the life of every party. We could count on laughs and fun times when she walked into the door.

Peggy’s proudest accomplishment in life were her children and grandchildren. She loved them each without end, supporting each fully in any endeavor they faced. Her voice was one of the loudest cheering, and her face was always in the front row. Peggy’s loving heart will be deeply missed by many, but her spirit will remain alive in the countless memories we hold close.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The visitation will continue on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Falgout Funeral Home, from 8:30 AM until service time. A celebration of Mrs. Peggy’s life will begin at 11:00 AM, a graveside service will follow at St. Mary’s Nativity Cemetery.
