Norman August Legendre Jr

Norman “Joe” August Legendre, Jr., age 81, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022. He was a native of St. Charles Community and a resident of Raceland, La.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church on Friday, May 13, 2022 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in St. Mary’s cemetery.

Joe is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn Folse Legendre; daughter, Alicee Ann Legendre, and Colette L. Benton and husband, William “Bill”; brother, Lynn Legendre; sisters, Myrna Gros, Kathleen Dore’ and Lynette Dufrene; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Norman A. and Lois Cancienne Legendre; brother, Ray Legendre; and sister, Mary Joan Legendre.

Joe was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic minister. He served as Staff Sergeant in the US Army from 1960 – 1965. He was a 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus. He will be dearly missed by all whose hearts he touched.
