Nessie P. Plaisance

Nessie P. Plaisance, 86, a native and resident of Raceland, LA, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at St. Mary’s Nativity Community Center, Raceland, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter, Betty Plaisance Foret; son, Robert Plaisance; grandsons, Steven Foret and wife Tracy and Blaine Foret; great grandsons, Mason and Ashton Foret.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Alice Tastet Plaisance; parents, Philocles Plaisance and Josephine Foret Plaisance; son-in-law, John G. Foret; sisters, Adriel Plaisance Price, Effie Plaisance Romero and Lorraine Nation; brothers, Warren, Whitney, Randolph, Cleveland, Sedric, Godfrey and Conrad Plaisance.

He loved to work in his garden, fish and sell his oranges and pecans. He owned a snowball stand and enjoyed talking with the customers. He was a Korean Conflict U.S. Army veteran. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Thibodaux Regional and St. Joseph Hospice for their loving care and compassion during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, Mass donations would be preferred.
