Myrna Ann Crosby Griffin

February 13, 1941 — August 4, 2025

Myrna Ann Crosby Griffin, 84, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, LA, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025.

She was born February 13, 1941 in Golden Meadow, La where she spent most of her life. A gifted athlete, she shined on the basketball courts of Golden Meadow School and later found joy and success on the golf course and achieving two holes in one.

Myrna shared a remarkable 64-year marriage with her perfect match, Larry Griffin. They first met at local dances and never left the dance floor behind. Together, they graced every event they attended, always finding time for one more spin.

The couple shared vacation and travel experiences, including Port conventions and many trips to Las Vegas. A highlight of those adventures was when Elvis Presley, during a live performance, serenaded Myrna with “Can’t Help Falling In Love” and personally handed her the scarf he used to wipe his brow — a moment that became cherished family lore.

Myrna and Larry raised three children: Mary, Lori, and Dwayne, who carried forward the strong foundation of love, warmth, faith and humor that defined their family. As a mother and matriarch, Myrna’s compassion extended far beyond her immediate family, embracing her children’s spouses as her own and becoming a second mom to many.

To her grandchildren, “Maw Maw” was unconditional love. She soothed mosquito bites, scrubbed dirty feet, and always waved goodbye from the doorway, imprinting warmth and reassurance in every farewell.

During her final month at Big Griff, she was able to spend time with each of her loved ones — a full circle of the life she built and nurtured.

Myrna is survived by children, Mary G. Dupre (Earl), Lori G. Comeaux, Dwayne Griffin (Gina); grandchildren, Brynn Comeaux (Scott), Dane Griffin, Brianna Comeaux (Tyler), Jake Dupre (Robbin), Drew Griffin (Emily), Todd Dupre (Hannah), Dari Griffin Dufrene (Regan) and Trey Comeaux (Giovanna); 2 great-grandchildren, Rosie and Cullen Brady; sister, Kathleen Cheramie and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Griffin; parents; Webster and Cedonia Callais Crosby; sisters, Pearl Eymard, Elma St. Pierre Toups, Beatrice “Tissy” Curole; brothers, Lindberg Crosby and Vinton Crosby; son-in-law, T-Mel Comeaux.

Myrna Ann Crosby Griffin was a committed follower of Christ and servant to her loved ones. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
