Moody "Moo" Addison

July 13, 1957 — December 26, 2024

Thibodaux

Moody “Moo” Addison, 67, Thibodaux, LA, passed away peacefully in his home on December 26, 2024.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 40 years, Ann Louviere Addison; his sons, Russ (Suzzette) and Chas; as well as his beautiful, canine girl, Bella. He also leaves behind his mother, Betty Addison; his brother, Byron Addison (Shanda); and his sisters, Wanda Miley (Wendell), Laurie Thomas, Dorinda Thein, and Darlene Stepp (James); as well as innumerable nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by his biological parents, Lila Jacobs and Moody Ellerbe; his father, Donald Addison; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Geraldine Louviere; his brothers, Elroy Ellerbe, Elmer Ellerbe, and Ray Ellerbe; as well as his little canine buddy, Riley.

Moody was born to Lila Jacobs (d. May 4, 2023) and Moody Ellerbe (d. July 4, 1975) on July 13, 1957, in Crescent City, California. He was adopted and raised by Betty and Donald Addison (d. November 16, 2024) of Sweetwater, LA. He attended Loranger High School where he excelled in sports. He was a member of the Squaxin Island Tribe of Shelton, Washington and proudly served his country in the US NAVY aboard the USS Tarawa. He then found his way “down the bayou” where he met the love of his life, put down roots, and raised two sons.

He loved working with his hands, bringing ideas into existence. He loved to tend to his garden and nap with his dogs. He loved to joke. He loved to laugh. But most of all, he loved his family.

He was an avid Saints fan, enjoyed tailgating for LSU games with his friends, and cheered for the baseball team on which his nephew Wade played each season.

Though usually not a man of many words, he always had quick wit and could light up a room with his smile. Moody will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.
