Meryl Orgeron Jones, a native of Lockport and a resident of Raceland, died at 9:06 am on Thursday, April 14, 2022. No services will be held.
She is survived by a son, Michael Clifford Jones and his wife, Kimberly, of Cabot, Arkansas; a daughter, Melanie Jones Gerrity and her husband, Daniel Gerrity, of Devon, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Grant and Mason Jones, and Reagan, Maryn and Devlyn Gerrity. She is also survived by a sister, Vivian Orgeron Roussel and a brother, Michael Sidney Orgeron, and former daughter-in-law, Jodie Martin Jones of Luling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Joseph Orgeron and Miriam Newell Orgeron; brother-in-law, Arthur Roussel, Jr.; niece, Celest Roussel Hendrix; and sister-in-law, Beckie Orgeron.
She was a teacher and then a guidance counselor at Central Lafourche High School until her retirement in 2008.
