Merna “Toot” Lasseigne Blanchard, 88, a resident of Galliano, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Galliano, on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 9 am until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am with burial to follow in Cheramie Cemetery.
Merna is survived by her children, Sonya B. Cheramie (James “Zoe”), Douglas “T-Doug” Blanchard, Jr. (Cathy); grandchildren, Kris and Casey Cheramie, Joy, Emily and Jake Blanchard; great-grandchildren, Zoey Cheramie, Justin and Jerin Savoie, Austin Abadie, Ren Walker Nelams; brothers, Arsen Lasseigne Jr., Johnny Lasseigne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas “Tattoo” P. Blanchard, Sr.; parents, Arsen Sr. and Cisca Ledet Lasseigne; siblings, Alex Lasseigne, Augustine L. Martin, Nolan Lasseigne, Wilbert Lasseigne, Ivy Lasseigne, Sr., Norby Lasseigne and Gloria Lasseigne; grandchildren, Karlie Rae Blanchard and Page Cheramie Abadie.
