Mercedes "Ann" Perez

Mercedes “Ann” Perez, 89, native of Grand Caillou and resident of Galliano, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

Ann is survived by her children, Juliet (Eddie) Callais and Kurt Perez, Sr.; her grandchildren, Denise (Shannon) Collins, T-Kurt Perez, Jr., Jessica (Seth) Rodriguez, and Joboa (Charlie) Verdin; her great-grandchildren, Noah and Ryan Laird, Braden and Briana Perez, and Savyn, Praislyn, Gracelyn, and Isaiah Verdin; her sisters, Juanita “PeeWee” Duplantis, Julia Duplantis, and Jackie Boudoin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Perez, Jr.; her parents, Lucius Sr. and Eunice Duplantis; her brothers, Johnny Duplantis, George “Davis” Duplantis, Lucius Duplantis, Jr., Lindy Duplantis, Roland Boudreaux, and Roy Boudoin; and her sisters, Leonise Callahan, Lois Duplantis, Merril Souldier, and Jeanne Duplantis.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on July 24, 2026, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow, from 9:00 AM until the service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Mrs. Ann at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will follow mass at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
