Melvina "Mel" Bourgeois

Melvina “Mel” Cheramie Bourgeois, 85, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11:10 p.m. She was a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Raceland, LA.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano on Tuesday; July1, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano, LA.

“Mel” is survived by her son, Paul “T-Paul” Chauvin; daughters, Wanda Eymard and Lisa Chauvin; stepson, Curt Bourgeois; stepdaughters, Deborah Graves and Barbara Losh-Bryan; brother, Michael Cheramie; grandchildren, Aaron, J-Leigh, Heidi and Joseph.

“Mel” was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Chauvin and second husband, Everence, “E.J.” Bourgeois; son, Allen Chauvin; parents, Joseph A. Cheramie and Ceaser Vegas Cheramie; brother, Robert Cheramie; and sister, Virginia Gisclair.

The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice and her caregivers, for the love, care and support during her time of need.
