Melvin J. Thibodaux

Melvin J. Thibodaux, 88, known as T-Mel or Bear a native of Cloverly Farms and resident of Larose passed away on Thursday, November 7th, 2024.

 Mr. Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 64 years: Hazel T. Thibodaux; children: Tracy Thibodaux, Mary T. Studdards, James P. Thibodaux (Rachel), Lisa T. Mergey (Martial), Craig P. Thibodaux (Leslie); grandchildren: Brandon, Travis, James Ryan, Rachel Lynn, Bella, Owen, André (Crystal), Cody, Emily, Abbie, Julia, and Luke; sister: Esther Comardelle; and godchild: Michael Thibodaux.

 Mr. Thibodaux was preceded in death by parents: Ackerson and Lucia L. Thibodaux; brothers: Ernest, Leslie, Alvin, Lloyd, Gary Thibodaux; and sisters: Doris Thibodaux, and Earline Matherne.

 T-Mel loved to work in his garden, bowling with his sons, fishing and watching The Young and the Restless. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, the Knights of Columbus Council 8898, and an usher at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.

 A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13th, 2024 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church from 9:00 am until service time. His Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am with burial following in the Church Cemetery.

 Mr. Melvin’s family would like to thank his caregiver, nurses, and their son; Tracy for the care and compassion they provided.
