Melvin Anthony Crochet, Sr.

Melvin A. Crochet, Sr., a native and resident of Des Allemands, LA, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Des Allemands Mennonite Church. Services will be at 11:00 am with burial to follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Des Allemands, LA.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia St. Pierre Crochet; son, Melvin “T-Mel” A. Crochet, Jr. (Rebecca); daughter, Rhonda C. St. Amant (Micah); brothers, Roy “T-Roy” Crochet (Diane), Richard Crochet, Peter Crochet (Carla); sister, Paula Crochet; 6 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Monica C. Hollis; parents, Roy P. Crochet and Julie Zellar Crochet; brother, Edgar Paul Crochet; sisters, Rose Lee and Annette Mullins and sister-in-law, Cindy Crochet..

Melvin enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.
