Louis J. Guidry, Jr.

Louis J. Guidry, Jr., 78, a resident of Lockport, LA, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 10:45 am on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Falgout Funeral Home, Lockport, LA. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am at Holy Savior Catholic Church, Lockport, LA with burial to follow in Holy Savior Cemetery.

Louis is survived by his dedicated and loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy “Dot” Arcement Guidry; sons, Brad Guidry (Kami), Ron Guidry (Angie); daughters, Collette Cantrelle (John), Jessica Champagne (Craig); grandchildren, Bryce Guidry, Corlyn Guidry, Destiny Guidry, Kayla Guidry, Daci Guidry, Maci Thibodaux, Trey Thibodaux, Matthew Cantrelle, Mark Cantrelle, Paul Cantrelle, Claire Cantrelle, and Patrick Cantrelle; step grandchildren, Brett Neely, Chase Neely, Zachary Neely, Amanda Champagne Eusea, and Gabrielle Champagne Hansen; great-grandchildren, Odell Guidry, Damon Barrios, Ember Guidry, and Eli Orgeron; and step great grandchildren, Luke Neely, Abigail Eusea, and Lyle Eusea.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Sr. and Aline Guidry; brother, Whitney Guidry; sisters, Edna Foret and Margaret Breaux.

Louis loved his family and was kind to everyone he met. He was a selfless, caring person who would help anyone in need. When his sister, Edna, needed a kidney, he unhesitatingly volunteered to be a donor. As a true patriot of our country, he bravely served in the army, 82nd Airborne, during the Vietnam War. Before retiring, he worked for Entergy as a lineman for 32 years. As a devout Catholic, he was devoted to our Lord and His blessed Mother and would pray the rosary daily. His favorite prayer was the Hail, Holy Queen which he said with genuine devoutness. Also he loved his little dog, Shushu. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
