Louis Joseph Eymard, II

December 22, 1969 — December 20, 2024

Luling

Louis J. “Tobie” Eymard, II passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024. Tobie was a kind and gentle soul who never met a stranger. He was a mariner who began working summers for his father’s company at the age of fourteen (14). He worked on oyster boats, supply boats and lift barges as a young man. He and his brother, Raimy, eventually moved into the executive suite and ran the company, Offshore Marine Contractors, alongside their father.

Tobie loved hosting parties and cooking for his friends and family. The term “the host with the most” was coined for him.

He loved animals and animals loved him. Rabbits, exotic birds, chickens, quail, llamas, pigs, cows, goats and horses were all part of his menagerie at one time or another. Luka, Sophie, Claire, Max, Scooby, Zane and Fritzi were just some of the dogs that were lucky enough to be relentlessly spoiled and loved by him.

Tobie was a loyal and faithful son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend. Those of us who were fortunate enough to know and love him and be loved by him will miss him immensely.

Tobie is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Jamie G. Eymard, his children, Louis “Louie” Eymard, III and Kaitlyn Eymard, Dorian (Brandon) Delatte, grandsons Taysom Eymard, Hunter, Layne and Alex Delatte; his brothers Ross Eymard, and Raimy (Lacie) Eymard; sisters Chantise (Kevin) Gros and Jamie (Bradley) Eymard; his mother Libby Cheramie and step-mother Lola C. Crochet.

He is preceded in death by his father Michael Eymard; grandparents Louis “Beto”and Inez Eymard; Lefty Cheramie and Betty Rebstock.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
