Louella Elizabeth Lange

October 1, 1947 — March 16, 2026

Harahan

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend Louella Thibodeaux Lange, 79, of Harahan, passed away at her home on March 16, 2026. Louella was born in Cutoff, Louisiana to the late Robert “Bob” Thibodeaux and Hazel Danos Thibodeaux.

She is survived by her children, Renee Toups Lang (Kevin) and Aimee Toups; step-children, Claire Hingle (Roy), Clarence Lange, Jr., and Gail Anderson (Paul); her grandchildren, Brandon Casebonne (Roccio), Brooke Torres (Chad), James Sewell, Alyson Burke (Nicholas), Ainsley Anderson, Rachel Lang, Emmaleigh Anderson, Blake Sewell, Paige Tott (Darrell), and Caitlyn Lang; 11 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her brother, Robert “Rock” Thibodeaux and countless other family members and dear friends.

Louella was preceded in death by her parents; her high school sweetheart and husband, James Toups; her loving husband of 29 years, Clarence Lange; and her brothers Little Bob Thibodeaux, and Ronnie “Tiger” Thibodeaux.

A courageous breast cancer survivor herself, Louella devoted most of her time to helping others facing illness and hardship. She lovingly sewed and distributed Prayer Pockets to those in need of comfort and strength through prayer. Countless hours were spent at her sewing machine crafting these small tokens of hope which were shared locally and around the world through organizations such as Doctors Without Borders, The Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center, and the Patrick F. Taylor Hope Lodge.

A graveside memorial service is pending.
