Lonis M. Compeaux

Lonis M. Compeaux, 92, a native and resident of Lafourche Parish, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025.

Visitation and Mass will be held on July 18, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Cut Off, from 9am to 11am with burial to follow in the church cemetery. 

Lonis is survived by her children, Ricky Compeaux (Wayne Foret), Myra Plaisance (Dale) and Renell Compeaux (Jan Birkhoff); daughter-in-law, Patricia T. Compeaux; grandchildren, Richard “Richie” Compeaux IV, Meagan Callais (Stephen), Brock Compeaux (Tammy), Trinity Plaisance (Nina) and Miranda Plaisance; great-grandchildren, Cecilia and Oscar Callais, Isabelle, Zoe and Rose Plaisance, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Compeaux Jr., son, Richard “RJ” Compeaux III; parents, Ernest and Lydia Cheramie; siblings, Gilbert Cheramie, Aglonis Bourgeois, Vincent, Louis and Gerald Cheramie. The family would like to thank the staff of Patterson Healthcare Center and the staff of ACG Hospice for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, Mass intentions are preferred.
