Lloyd J. Guidry, Sr.

Lloyd J. Guidry, Sr., 91 a native of Golden Meadow, La. and resident of Larose, La. passed away on November 1, 2025 with his loving family near his side.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow at 9:00am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Lloyd is survived by his dedicated wife of 69 years; Dorothy “Dot” Vizier Guidry; daughter; Joan G. Guidry (Louis), sons Lloyd J. Guidry, Jr., (Roshelle), Todd M. Guidry (Melissa), grandchildren; Grant (Katie), Russ (Holly), Blaire (James), Ryan (Genny), Jacob, and Jenna (Josh), great-grandchildren; Luke, Emma, Jack, Anne Tyler, Benjamin, and Mary.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; Aswell and Louella Pellegrin Guidry.

Lloyd was a member of the American Legion Post 259, K of C Council 9000, Eucharist Minister, and an Acolyte and Parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow, La.

As a passionate educator for 40 years, Lloyd began his career at Golden Meadow High School and was a charter teacher of South Lafourche High School, retiring as principal. He was an alumnus of LSU and Nicholls State University. Lloyd loved his family dearly; and he will be remembered by all as an avid LSU Tiger fan.
