Leroy J. Cheramie, 79, a native of Mathews and resident of Gheens passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20th at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gheens with burial to follow in Holy Savior Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Genell P. Cheramie; son, Terry Cheramie; grandchildren, Chace Cheramie, Myka Cheramie, Erin Moise (Sandy) and Hannah Grimball (Chris); great-grandchild, Ainsley Grace Grimball; sister, Janet Cheramie; many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mickey Cheramie; grandson, Clint Cheramie; parents, Louis, Jr. and Elise Landry Cheramie, brothers, Roy Cheramie, Paul Cheramie and Calvin Cheramie; sister, Joyce Melancon; father-in-law, Levy Plaisance; mother-in-law, Adelia Matherne Plaisance.
He was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gheens. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
