He was survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benton Chouest, Sr. and Flora Chouest; brothers, Carroll Chouest, Benton Chouest, Jr. and Errol Chouest, Sr.; sisters, Earline Blair, Anna Belle Kyle, Sadie Cheramie, Bessie Adams, Dolores Leger and Joyce Chouest.
