Kenneth Etienne Cheramie, 81, a native and resident of Golden Meadow passed away on December 7th, 2022.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow on Wednesday, December 14th, 2022 from 10:00 am until service time. Funeral Mass will begin at 12 noon with burial following in the church cemetery.
Mr. Kenneth is survived by his wife Anna Lee Cheramie, daughters: Penny Cheramie, Keke Besson, and Shellie Besson, step-daughter: Michelle Bivens; grandchildren: Shellina Falgout, Paigan Roberts, Heath Gray, Chelsea Gray, Kennedy Besson, Matthew Besson, Jacques Besson, and Sarah Fabre; 5 great grandchildren; and sister: Brenda Nichols.
Mr. Cheramie was preceded in death by his first wife: Patsy Cheramie; son: Kenneth Etienne Cheramie, Jr.; daughter: Wendy Camardelle; parents: Mildred and Kirby Cheramie.
The family would like to thank caretaker Paigan Roberts and staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their care and compassion.
Mr. Kenneth was a very talented trumpet player playing with the likes of Vin Bruce, DJ Collins, Harry Anselmi, and the Piece of Cake band to name a few. In 2012 he was honored and inducted into the Westwego Musicians Hall of Fame for his numerous accomplishments. He was a good man with a tender heart who adored his wives, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and was very close with his sister. He loved to tell jokes and play his trumpet at every opportunity.
