Kathleen Adams Haydel

Kathleen “Patchie” Adams Haydel, age 79, born in New Orleans and a long-time resident of Raceland, LA passed away Sunday August 30, 2026.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church, 333 Twin Oaks Dr., Raceland, LA, from 9:00 AM until the celebration of her memorial Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial is to follow in church cemetery.

Patchie is survived by her beloved husband, Lester P. Haydel, of 57 years; daughters, Angele Davis (Chad) and Mandy Crochet (Lonnie); grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, Cameron, Brooke, Levi and siblings, Jeannie Boudreaux (Ricky), David Adams (Mary Grace), Gregory Adams (Terrie), nieces, nephews and Godchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Charles R. Adams and Rose Adel Henry of Houma, LA.

Patchie graduated St. Francis High School in Houma, LA (1964) then her nursing degree from Mercy School of Nursing in New Orleans. Following graduation she began her nursing career at St. Anne Hospital in Raceland, LA. Later decided to change career direction and obtained a Certificate of Pastoral Studies from Loyola University in New Orleans to better serve her passion serving as Religious Ed. Coordinator at St. Hilary church parish. She then transitioned to the Diocese of Houma Thibodaux Religious Ed. Department.

She enjoyed family, following activities of her grandchildren, gardening, home maker, grand-dog sitting and watching English movies. She was an active member of St. Hilary Catholic church parish since 1968 where she served as Eucharistic Minister, created St. Hilary’s first youth ministry group and an education volunteer.
