Katherine Bergeron Spahr

Katherine “Maw Maw Kat” Spahr, 80, a native and resident of Raceland, LA, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 9:26PM.

Visitation will be held at St. Hilary Catholic Church in Raceland, LA on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 9AM until 11AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11AM with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland, LA.

Katherine is survived by her children, Rachel Dufrene (Farrell), Angelle Kraemer (Ken), Gerard Spahr (Lisa); grandchildren, Tyler Dufrene, Kody Kraemer (Kyra), Kasey Kraemer (Mary-Claire), Kylie Kraemer, Alyssa Hume (Chris), Ariel Fuller (Cameron), Austin Spahr, Allie Spahr; great-grandchildren, Alivia Hume, Harper Hume, Everly Hume, Kailey Hume, Aubrey Fuller, Charlotte Fuller, Kamden Dupre, Kora Kraemer, John-Michael Kraemer, Thomas Kraemer, one great-grandson on the way; and her sisters, Melinda Gallardo, Tammy Michaud, and Debbie Kaisler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, of 58 years, Keith Spahr; parents, Herman and Eva Bergeron; her son, Dwayne; brothers, Horace Ledet and Farrell Ledet; and her sister, Grace Williams.

Katherine was a beloved mother, grandmother, and life-long friend whose love knew no limits. Her family was her greatest joy, and she loved them to the moon and back. She took pride in all the memories that she shared with them. She lived her life guided by kindness, compassion, and grace. She had a special love for animals, especially the many dogs she has had over the years. She enjoyed going to the casino and vacationing in Branson, Missouri, with her husband any chance she could. Katherine was a proud graduate from Raceland High School in 1963 and L.E. Rabouin Nursing School in 1965. She will be deeply missed and forever in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
