Juventino V. Barrera, Sr.

Juventino “Tino” V. Barrera, Sr., 90, resident of Raceland, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

Tino is survived by his loving wife, Maria Cavazos Barrera; his children, Mary Cortez, Ramon (Dawn) Barrera, Juventino Barrera Jr., Daniel (Kelly) Barrera, Michelle (Kevin) Harp, and Leslie (Wesley) Chatagnier; his grandchildren, Jacob (Jessie) Cortez, Wesley (Shannon) Barrera, Rebecca (Jacob Brogden) Barrera, Brenna (Aaron) Barrera Johnson, Daniel John Barrera, Kaitlyn Barrera, Ian Harp, Ana Harp, Sofia Chatagnier, and Cristian Chatagnier; and his great-grandchildren, Atticus Barrera, and Rheya Brogden.

Tino was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Maria Barrera.

Tino loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved singing and playing his guitar as well as fishing and gardening.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 2nd, 2025, at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Raceland, from 9:00 AM until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11:00 AM, with burial following at St. Mary’s Nativity Cemetery, in Raceland.
