Jude J. Gautreaux

Jude J. Gautreaux, a native of Mathews, LA and a resident of Raceland, LA, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

He is survived by his sisters (godmother) Agnes Puebla, Kathy Landry, Susan (Edward) Wunstell and Diane Gordon; brothers, Roland Gautreaux Jr. and Gene (Kim) Gautreaux, Glenn Gautreaux; godchildren, Michael Puebla, Clint Gautreaux and Payton Pennex; life- long friend, Curry Zeringue; numerous nieces and nephews; and his two beloved dogs, Rosie and Sandy.

Preceded in death by his father, Roland Gautreaux Sr.; mother, Odit M. Gautreaux; sister, Virginia Landry; brothers-in-law, Gary Landry, Sr. and Donald Landry and William “Bill” Gordon; sister-in-law, Barbara Gautreaux; (godfather), Felix McElroy, Sr.

Gardening was his passion. Everything he planted blossomed into something beautiful. He enjoyed playing cards, going to a great garage sale and spending time with friends and family. He never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed and always loved by all but never forgotten.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 11, 2026 at St. Mary Church in Raceland from 9:00 am – 11:00 am with mass at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
