Joseph A. Gaudet, Sr.

Joseph A. Gaudet, Sr., 89, native and resident of Golden Meadow, has passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025.

Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph (Judy) Gaudet, Jr., Terry Gaudet, Philip (Debra) Gaudet, Sr., Gloria (Jimmy, Sr.) LeJune, Peggy (Eddie) Richoux, Gary (Hope) Gaudet, Sr., Bill (Wendy) Gaudet, Willie Gaudet, and Scott (Christie) Gaudet; 26 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 34 great-great-grandchildren.

Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Narcillia “Nono” “Pumpkin” Gaudet; his son, David Gaudet, Sr.; his daughter-in-law, Darlene Gaudet; his sister, Adolphine G. Cheramie; his brothers, Thomas Gaudet and Ernest Gaudet; his great-grandchildren, Trace, Blaze, and Colt Gaudet; his parents, Paris and Arthemise Rousse Gaudet, and Ernestine Billiot Gaudet.

Joseph worked on the oil rig, and as a trawler and fisherman. He loved cutting his grass, and taking care of his yard. He was a great father, grandfather, and father-in-law, he will be missed dearly.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The visitation will continue on Thursday, September 18, from 8:00 AM until service time. A celebration of Mr. Joseph’s life will begin 12:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Golden Meadow.
