Joleen P. Melancon

Joleen P. Melancon, 50, a native of Cut Off and resident Galliano gained her angel wings on Sunday, October 13, 2024.

 Mrs. Joleen is survived by her loving husband of 29 years: Rodney “Slim” Melancon, Sr.; children: Danielle Melancon, Rodney “Little Slim” Melancon, Jr.; and brothers: Kim Plaisance (Rosemary), Peter Plaisance, Russell Plaisance (Tammy), Brad Plaisance.

 Mrs. Melancon was preceded in death by parents: Henry “Frog” Plaisance, Jr and Joyce D. Plaisance; and sisters in law: Norma Plaisance, Tessie Plaisance.

 Joleen was very proud supporter of her daughter’s participation in both Lafourche and Terrebonne Special Olympics. She was a cancer survivor of 13 years; that loved life, living on the bayou and never met a stranger.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off from 9:00 am until service time on Tuesday, October 22nd , 2024. Mrs. Joleen's Memorial Mass will begin at 11:00 am with internment following in the Church Cemetery.
