Johnny Joseph Orgeron Sr., 79, a native and resident of Lockport, LA, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
Visitation will be held in his honor at Falgout Funeral Home, in Lockport, LA, on Thursday, July 24th, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Raceland, LA, with burial following at the Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery in Lockport, LA.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dianna H. Orgeron; sons, Johnny Jr. (Jami), and Shane Orgeron; and his four grandchildren Ellenore, Rowen, Warner, and Everette Orgeron.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie Sr. and Noelie Orgeron; brothers Freddie Jr. and Wilton Orgeron; and sisters, Bertha Hebert and Marie Orgeron.
After graduating high school, he served our nation by enlisting in the United States Army. Upon completion of his honorable service, he met and married the love of his life, Dianna, in 1967. After their wedding he worked in many of the local shipyards in the area as a painter and sandblaster and then later in life as a security guard at the Valentine Papermill, Lady of the Sea Hospital, and various oil field companies at Port Fourchon always providing and ensuring his family was taken care of. After retirement, he enjoyed watching westerns, woodworking, making jewelry, fishing, going to yard sales and craft shows with his wife, and spending quality time with his grandkids and family.
In lieu of flowers; the family asks for donations to be made to Relay for Life of Lafourche in honor of Mr. Johnny Orgeron's resilient and courageous eighteen-year battle with cancer.
