John "Beaver" P. Griffin, Sr.

John “Beaver” P. Griffin, Sr., 68, native and resident of Cut Off, has passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Beaver is survived by his children, Linda G. Carcisse (Travis), Lana G. LaBauve (Randy), and John P. Griffin, Jr. (Meg), and Christopher Eriksen; his godchild, Alyce Martin; his grandchildren, Katelynn Anaya (Ramiro), U.S.M.C, Serenity Wiggins, Bodhi, Finley, Colby, and Chloe LaBauve, and Arcly Griffin; his great-grandchildren, Kallaway, Koa, Ariel, Arleau, Asher, Sissy, and two great-grandchildren on the way; and his dog, Sugar, and two former wives.

Beaver was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin P. Griffin and Alice Plaisance Griffin; his sister, Mona G. Orgeron; his son, Jarrod Kiger; and his dog, Thor.

His guitars were his love, but carpentry was his life. Beaver loved the Saints and LSU, it didn’t matter what game was on, he was fussing at the TV about play calls.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, January 22nd, 2026, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Beaver’s life will begin at 11:00 AM, burial will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Larose. A bereavement repass will follow the burial at Beaver’s house.
