Helen Dufrene Gonzales

Helen June Dufrene Gonzales, age 86, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025. She was a native of Bayou Gauche and resident of Lockport, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, in Lockport, on Saturday, April 12, 2025 starting at 10:30 am. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 am with a private burial to be held at a later date.

Helen is survived by her sons, Kenneth “Kenny” Gonzales and wife, Melissa, David “Dave” Gonzales and wife, Melinda, and Robert “Robie” Gonzales, Jr. and wife, Kristie; daughters, Lisa Knight and husband, Theron, Angie Guidry and husband, Ron; brother, Walter “Butsy” Dufrene and wife, Laura; sister-in-law, Bambi Dufrene; grandchildren, Ronnie (Stacie) Adams, Neil (Angelle) Adams, Jenny (Jeffery) Bordelon, Brad (Ciera) Gonzales, Jake (Claire) Gonzales, Brett Neely, Chase Neely, Zachary (Madison) Neely, David Gonzales and Bruce Adams; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Gonzales, Sr.; parents, Amos Joseph Dufrene, Sr. and Virginia Matherne Dufrene and companion, Gillis Dempster; brothers, Leroy, Blaine Dufrene, and Amos “A.J.” Jr. Dufrene; and sisters, Carol Giesler and husband, Robert “Bob”, and Iris Galliano.
