Hazel Marie Thibodaux

Hazel Marie Thibodaux, 83, a native of Thibodaux, LA and resident of Larose, LA, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026.

Hazel is survived by her sons, Tracy Thibodaux, James Thibodaux, and Craig Thibodaux (Leslie); daughters, Mary Studdards and Lisa Mergey (Martial); grandchildren, Brandon, Travis, James Ryan, Rachel Lynn, Bella, Owen, André (Crystal), Cody, Emily, Abbie, Julia, and Luke; great-grandchild, Olivia Hazel; brother, Bruce Thibodaux (Peggy); sister, Lois Ridley (Richard); sister in law, Diane Thibodaux; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Thibodaux; parents, Younice and Jeanne Thibodaux; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Emma Lirette; paternal grandparents, Victor and Sidonia Thibodaux; brothers, Eddie Thibodaux, Jessie Thibodaux and Nolan Thibodaux; and her sister, Mary Ann Thibodaux.

Hazel was a deeply selfless person who loved her family above all else, always showing up for her children and grandchildren. Her Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life. She found great joy in cooking, sewing, and gardening, as well as serving her community through the Ladies Altar Society at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. 

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Haydel Hospice and to Tracy Thibodaux, Hazel’s oldest son, for the compassion, comfort, and loving care they provided for Hazel during her time of need.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Larose, LA beginning at 10:00AM with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 12:00PM with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
