Gilbert J. Danos

Gilbert J. Danos, 85, native of Larose and resident of Mathews, LA, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

Visitation will be held at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church, on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 9 am until service time. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am.

Gilbert is survived by his wife of 67 years, Pam C. Danos; children, Harry J. Danos (Claudia), René P. Danos (Crystal), Madeline D. Louque (Richard Jr.); 6 grandchildren, Amber, Jamie, Chelsea, Jessica, Reba, Julia; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Forest Danos; sisters, Mary Jane Kraemer and Rita Gisclair.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Patrick Sr. and Mae Bellanger Danos; brothers, Harry, Clifton, Earnest and Patrick Jr. Danos; sisters, Mary Lou Danos, Agnes Danos and Mildred Soudelier.

Gilbert was a loving husband, father and Papa. He was a cancer survivor. He loved spending time with his family, farming, gardening and camping. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.

The family would like to thank The Legacy Nursing of Thibodaux and Hope Hospice for the care they gave him for his final days of life.
