Gerline E. Vizier

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gerline E. Vizier, who peacefully passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026 at the age of 95.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Galliano, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 9 am until the Mass of Christian burial starting at 11 am with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Gerline is survived by her daughter, Susanna Savin (Richard); 4 grandchildren, Starr Delaune, Shantel Stewart, Shannon-Raneé Altmeyer, Michael Vizier Jr., 8 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivey O. Vizier; son, Michael A. Vizier, Sr.; daughter, Shirley-Rose V. Savin; parents, Provis and Julia Guidry Esponge and sister, Mia E. Gisclair.

Gerline enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She could be found many days with her husband trawling for shrimp.

She was a truly sweet, loving, and gentle woman whose kindness touched everyone who knew her. She was the heart of our family and brought warmth, comfort, and joy to those around her. Her beautiful smile, caring nature, and loving spirit will forever remain in our hearts. Throughout her 95 years, she created countless memories and shared a lifetime of love, wisdom, and laughter with her family. She taught us the importance of kindness, family, and cherishing the simple moments in life. Although our hearts are heavy with her passing, we are grateful for the many wonderful years we were blessed to have her with us.
