On June 6, 2026, Gerald John Hebert Jr., 51, of Cut Off, Louisiana, lost his 15 year battle with brain cancer. He passed away just as he lived, on his own terms, quietly at home surrounded by his family.
Gerald loved sharing his passions for Star Trek, sci-fi and horror movies, tattoos, and music with others. He proudly wore a Star Trek tattoo sleeve with the Klingon saying “lw batlh qordu” which translates to the two more important things in his life, “for honor and the family”. While Gerald tried to live an unassuming life, everyone that met him could sense his genuineness and kindness, and instantly respected and loved him. His biggest accomplishment in life was raising his sons to know that is was acceptable to live life on their own terms, not be afraid to be different, and to be truly and unapologetically their true selves.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 29 years: Michelle Duet-Hebert; his twin boys: Xander Leon and Max John; his parents: Patty and Gerald Sr. (Butch); brother: Clay Hebert (Brooks); nieces: Audrey and Autumn.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Roland (Bason) and Audrey (Ganna) Guidry, John Sr. and Audrey Hebert; and cousins: Tyler Guidry, and Tanner Guidry.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services or burial, but instead a memorial gathering at his parent’s home on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 2pm-12am.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are being accepted at https://gofund.me/12b2793b9 to help support Gerald’s wife and children.
Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
