Gary Don Williams

Gary “Turkey, Pop Pop” Williams, 70, a native of Port Sulphur and resident of the Open Road passed away on September 16th, 2026.

Gary leaves behind his surviving children: Jonathon W. Plake II (Rebecca), Kendra Sassoni (Travis), Brandon Plake (Aimee); grandchildren: Robin-Lynn, Victoria, Logan, Tanna, Natalie, Lainey, Braeden, Tristan, C.T., Alexis, Savannah; great grandchildren: Aurora, Thomas, Aliyah Mae, Emmie-Grace, Faith; mother: Mary Nell Williams; siblings: Elizabeth Fryou Baytop, Sandra Fryou, Luke Fryou Jr., and Monica Fryou Morgan; and three nieces: Janelle (Nellie) Fryou Dangerfield, Amanda Morgan Lee, and Tara Fryou of Morgan City, along with cousins he grew up with.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother: Juanita Williams, one aunt: Billie Hall Brooks, and four uncles: Jack Lee George, Donald George, Tommy Allen Williams, and Jimmy Williams.

He was a devoted stepfather and truck driver; well, known for his big booming hearty laugh. His love of the open road was only surpassed by the love he showed his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is now watching over them from Heaven’s Highway.

His final manifest is complete; his shift on earth is done. The road goes on forever, and the journey never ends. We're eastbound and down.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, November 7th, 2026, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano, service times are currently pending.
