Ethel Ledet Robichaux

July 12, 1923 — May 19, 2026

Raceland

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Ethel Ledet Robichaux. She left her earthly domain at the age of 102 on May 19, 2026, a few hours after her anointing sacrament was given to her, and with much peace, opened her eyes into eternal life to be reunited with her loved ones who went before her. She was dearly loved as Mom, Granny, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother.

She was born in the St. Charles community, Raceland, La., on July 12, 1923. She was the proud mom of six children; Francis Jr. (Sharon), Jimmy, Richard ‘Dickie,’ (Phyllis), Karen Gunn (Danny), and Gary. She was predeceased by her son, Danny Robichaux and his wife, (Sue).

She was a fantastic cook (best seafood gumbo-yum) for her household and many others; she loved playing countless hours of cards with her card club with a few sips of her best drink, Bristol Cream Sherry, and traveled with her husband and friends to a few distant places, but NEVER by plane. He was always ready for the road trips she would agree to. Grand Isle was a weekly road trip during Spring and Summer. She loved cooking bread dough for the crew and never failed. She loved flowers, but Live flowers, showering them with her gentle spirit and surrounding her home inside and out with beautiful blooming plants, wearing her white pants working with the flowers and never once getting a speck on them. One of her best personal loves was her love of Disney World and the many trips taken there with her children, grandchildren and husband, Francis Sr., a/k/a “Chief!”

Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. Robichaux, her son, Danny Robichaux, parents Claude and Evela (Vela) Boudreaux Ledet. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Debbie Gunn, Grandson in law, Kurt Comeaux, Grandson in law Jason Benton and her siblings, Edgar Ledet, C.J. Ledet, Agnes L. Torres, Lydia L. Verdin, and Rosalie L. Hebert.

She is survived by her children Francis, Jr., Jimmy, Dickie, Karen Gunn, and Gary Robichaux, 10 grandchildren plus one who predeceased her, Debbie Gunn. The grandchildren are Francis “John” Robichaux, III, Heather R. Klingman, Todd Robichaux, Rachelle R. Boyd, Celeste Robichaux, Scott Robichaux, Angie R. Picciola, Tiffiny Comeaux Drinkwater, Stephanie G. Benton, and Becky G. Rohner. She leaves behind a great legacy of 20 Great Grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren plus one coming in June!

Final arrangements May 29th, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, St. Charles Community, Hwy 308, Raceland, La. Viewing times are 8am to 9am for immediate family, 9am to 11am for the public, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11am.
