Doris Jane Marie Dardar Martin

Doris Jane Marie Dardar Martin, 85, a native of Golden Meadow, Louisiana and a resident of Galliano, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, peacefully surrounded by her family.

Doris is survived by her children, Bryan John Martin (Joelle), Dwayne Charles Martin (Vicky), Risa Martin Bourgeois (John), Neil Wade Martin (Savannah); brother, James “Jimmy” Dardar (Loretta); 16 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theodore Joesph Martin Jr.; parents, Roman Charles Dardar, Metia Serigny Riggs (John); and Elton Paul Charles Dardar.

Doris was a woman who kept her hands busy and her heart full. A phenomenal cook, she loved preparing meals for her family whenever she could. She found peace outside doing yardwork. Doris cherished every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always prioritizing quality time with those she loved. She was the matriarch of her family. As the matriarch, she was the glue that held her family together. Doris was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

The family would like to thank The Broadway Elder Living and Rehabilitation and Hope Hospice for taking care of Doris in her time of need.

Visitation will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 9:00AM until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM with burial to follow at Cheramie Cemetery.
