Donald John "Punk" Esponge, 58, a native of Cut Off and resident of Chauvin passed away on Saturday November 30, 2013.
Visitation will be held at Falgout Funeral Chapel in Galliano on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Lena Barlow Esponge; sons, Al Vinet and wife Denise, Christopher "Chris" Esponge and fiancé Amy Bourg; daughters, Anna Naquin and husband Terry, Gypsy Pitre and husband Greg, Shirley Smith and husband Steve, Joann Rodrigue, Bridget Dufrene and husband Leroy; brothers, Bobby Hebert, Jr., Stanley Taste, Jr.; sisters, Bonnie Esponge, Diane Logan; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Oramae Levron Esponge; grandson, Stanley "Tad" Esponge.
He was devoted to his family and grandchildren. He loved to hunt and fish.
