Dickerson C. Bouvier

Dickerson Charles Bouvier, age 93, a native and resident of Larose passed away on August 12, 2026 at his home in Thibodaux. He was a kind and generous person, who never met a stranger and faithfully believed in making everyone laugh. He was the owner and operator of one of the Rolling Stores that operated in the Tenth Ward of Lafourche Parish. He was the owner of Dick’s Supermarket, owned a crawfish farm, catfish farm, exterminating company, insulation company, and owned Bayou Chemical Company until his retirement in 1991. He was a past board member and Grand Marshal of the French Food Festival, was a past member of the Versailles Mardi Gras Carnival Club. He had a very active life with his travels, having traveled the world, and always did what he wanted, when he wanted. Anyone meeting and talking with him will remember that he would tell them – “DON’T TAKE THE WOODEN NICKELS, THEY’RE MINE.”

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose on Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 9:30 until service time. Mr. Dickerson’s Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am will burial following in the Church Cemetery.

Mr. Dickerson is survived by his honey of 45 years: Joyce Savoie Bouvier; sons” Miles Bouvier (Melena), James Bouvier, Sr. (Lisa); stepson: Elton “Tony” Arceneaux; daughters: Karrie Collins (Todd), Star Adams (Chris), Ann Sanamo (Greg), and Kelly Curole (Tracy); his sidekick granddaughter: Lindsey Griffin (Sam); his little razzo great grandson: Landon Parks; 12 grandkids, and 6 great grandchildren.

Mr. Bouvier was preceded in death by his parents: Davis Bouvier and Camellia Pierce Bouvier; brothers: David Bouvier and Raymond Bouvier; sisters: Rowena B. Petit, Nettie B. Naagard, Lillian B. Alario, and Mildred B. Leblanc; niece: Roberta “Bobbie” Fonseca; and many nephews and nieces.

Like Dickie would always say “C’est la vie”.

Mr. Dickerson’s family would like to thank the staff of ACG Hospice, especially Brooke, Amedisys Home Health Care, Dr. M. Nawaz, Dr. S. Patel, the staff at CIS, and Father Dean Danos.
