Clemire Antoine Dardar

Clemire (“Poncho”, “Tish” “Clem”) Antione Dardar, a native of Golden Meadow, LA and resident of Larose, LA, passed away on September 29, 2026 in Lafayette, LA. Clemire was a follower of Jesus Christ, a man of great faith and a prayer warrior. He was a devoted husband, loving, and supportive father with a strong work ethic which he instilled in his children. He started working at the age of 13 for Beauregard Martin and was a loyal and faithful employee of B&J Martin Inc. for 73 years.

Family and friends are welcome to attend visitation on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Christian Fellowship Church 13581 E Main St, Larose, LA 70373 from 9:30am until funeral service at 11:30am with burial following at Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Clemire Dardar was a devoted husband to Eula Mae Williams Dardar for 32 years until her passing in 1990. He was a courageous, inspirational, faithful provider who modeled a strong work ethic and spirit of excellence as well as strong faith. He believed in the power of prayer and passed that faith on to his children through his faithful practice of rising early to pray and his willingness to pray about everything. He instructed his children not to cheat themselves but to give 110% to whatever work they were doing. Clemire often prayed and declared God’s Word to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Clemire is survived by their children: Jeremiah (Melissa) Dardar, Virginia (Jesus) Dardar-Zarraga, Clyde (Gwynn) Dardar, and Clayton Dardar. Grandchildren: Emily (Bradley) Shelly, Kassi (Brian) Picou, Hali Dardar, Jessica (Colin) Aiken, Jacqueline (Nicholas) Kennedy, and Johnathan Zarraga. Great Grandchildren: Claire and Drake Shelley, Amelia, Oliver and Eleanor Picou, Eloise and Abigail Aiken and Israel Kennedey.

Clemire remarried and was a devoted husband to Helen Barrilleaux Dardar for 29 years until her passing in 2020. Clemire is survived by his Stepchildren: Michael Barrilleaux, Cheryl Granello, Mary (Thomas) Arceneaux and Peter Barrilleaux. Step grandchildren: John (Lupita) Granello, Nicholas Granello and Eric (Jill) Barrilleaux.

Step great grandchildren: Brittlyn Orgeron, Michaela, Helen, John Paul, and Gabriella Granello, and Kate and Ella Barrilleaux. Step great-great grandchildren Kenzie Lee and Jax Orgeron.

Clemire was preceded in death by his parents Louise and Onezephar Dardar, his wives Eula Mae Williams Dardar, and Helen Barrilleaux Dardar, His brothers Claude and Irvin Dardar, his sisters Dolores Anselmi and Thelma Dardar, Step-grandson Scotty Duet. Clemire did not grow up with many advantages or education, but he sure finished well, as Psalms 71:18 states “Now also when I am old and gray-headed, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength and Your power to everyone who is to come.”
